Being Overweight Has Dire Consequences

With so many issues facing people today, surprisingly one of the greatest enemies is obesity. Everything from the abundance of healthy foods to the lack of health education are culprits in helping to spurn this problem. The impact of being overweight reaches far beyond the social stigma and self-esteem problems. This particular plaque upon individuals in all walks of life has dire consequences relating to serious health issues. Fortunately, this is an issue that has proven and effective solutions, and people do not have to live with the problem of obesity in most cases.

Looking at the list of potential problems that can be created by obesity is somewhat scary without even considering that there is no other known source that can create so much chaos and such a litany of issues, both physical and medical. Some of these issues are: stress on joints, fatigue, ligament and tendon damage, heart issues, high blood pressure, diabetes, sleep apnea, reproductive issues, gallstones and even cancer. This is only a portion of the havoc that being overweight can cause and contribute to - so that's the bad news.

What most people don't know is that getting themselves out of this precarious situation is easier than they think. There are circumstances, which fall into the greater minority, where such issues as thyroid function make the task of getting rid of excess weight and body fat almost impossible and without question more difficult. For the rest of us, this isn't a mountain that can't be scaled, and doing so starts with simple steps. The vast majority of personal trainers will cite the 70/30 or 90/10 rule. By this they mean that weight loss and burning body fat is 70 or 90 percent diet.

How to eat, what to eat, when to eat and so on, these are the big hidden secrets to reaching that goal. Some of it is as simple as it sounds, some of it will benefit with some professional experienced guidance, bottom line... it can be done! Such small things like reducing portion size, increasing (that's right) the number of meals a day, food choices and other education on what healthy eating is will unlock the door that will open to the new world of a healthier and happier body. Some issues like self-esteem and daily fatigue can almost instantly be rectified, while most every other issue can eventually be reversed and healed. Yes there is that 10 to 30 percent that will be blood sweat and exercise. Still, even these ugly thoughts have creative solutions, like taking the stairs, or parking on the far end of the parking lot at the mall just to simply increase daily activity will have benefits that really do work.

This is a topic that deserves conversation, but if someone is truly serious about making the change, changing the social stigma that casts a not so friendly light, feeling better about themselves, feeling better physically, being healthier and on and on, then it isn't going to happen by reading this, but if this article is permitted to have a voice and is heard, then what follows will be action. Take the steps, find trusted sources for food and dietary education, start small and go from there... the end of this journey is well worth the walk.

Health issues include other things beside diet and exercise. Here at EMK Marketing LLD we have found Himalayan Salt Lamps to be very beneficial to purifying air. Become a Lady Boss At Losing Weight

There were many things that I didn't feel like I had control of in my life. Just a few of the challenges I faced were the unexpected passing of my mother, the unexpected loss of my corporate nursing job (due to downsizing), and the unexpected passing of my 2 week old grandson. But one day I realized that it was a fact that there were many things in my life that I didn't have control over, but there was at least one thing that I did have control over, and that was my weight.

Becoming aware of that made me feel powerful instead of power-less, and I felt like a boss! I felt like I was in charge and running things as it related to my weight. And I made up my mind once and for all that I wasn't going to let the scale or food boss me around anymore.

You too can become a lady boss at losing weight. You can dictate the direction that your weight goes in. And that is regardless of your current weight. I remember when losing just a few pounds made me feel amazing and empowered! It was at that moment I realized that I could control food and it didn't have control over me. Now this is not something that happened overnight, but the more my weight dropped the more in control I felt.

You don't have to feel overpowered by food. Just like me you can do it! Just imagine how wonderful it will feel when you unleash your inner boss and take your control back! I know that you can do it! If I can do it then you can too! I have been blessed to lose over 40 pounds. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it. Just take it one day at a time and one step at a time.

I believe that you are a strong, beautiful and confident woman who can become a lady boss at losing weight. You are the boss of the scale, the scale is NOT the boss of you! So feel confident, feel powerful and unleash your inner BOSS!

Avoid These Four Mistakes So You Can Finally Reach Your Goals

Here are the four common mistakes I see in my coaching practice that keep individuals from reaching their health and wellness goals:

Mistake #1: Setting unrealistic goals.

To share a personal example, a few years back, I made a decision to stop eating foods with added sugar.

There was just one problem. I was setting myself up for failure. While I had lots of discipline and optimism, all I did was think about chocolate and I ended up feeling like a failure when I caved and ate some chocolate. The takeaway: to achieve a goal, you need to feel somewhat confident that you can reach it.

Mistake #2: Having a long-term goal without a short-term plan.

There's no reason why I couldn't have limited foods with added sugars, but I went about it the wrong way. If I'd come up with a very specific plan, I could have achieved it. I just needed to re-assess my goal so I felt confident about my ability to achieve it.

When you're setting a long-term goal, the focus is on what I refer to as the "Big Picture". And that's what I ask of my coaching clients. But to achieve that really big goal, you need to have smaller, manageable goals along the way.

Reworking goals in this way makes even the biggest goal manageable. As you achieve success along the way, you build your confidence and this makes it easier to stay focused and continue with that forward momentum.

Mistake #3: Trying to do it all.

No matter how much you pride yourself on your multi-tasking skills, research shows your brain can only focus on one big thing at a time.

This is the same problem with having too many goals. Think about when you decided you wanted to lose weight. You probably made big plans to get to the gym, eat smaller portions and go to bed earlier in that first week. We all know how that worked out!

A better approach is to set fewer, smaller goals more frequently. I like to set weekly goals. This practice allows you to minimize competing priorities, which can squash your chances for success.

When you think about what you need to do to reach your big goal, it can cause some anxiety if you don't chunk it down. If you tackle your big goal over 30, 60 or 90 days instead of 365, your odds of achieving it are much greater.

Mistake #4: Failing to recognize progress.

How often do you take time out to reflect on and recognize everything you've accomplished?

Your subconscious mind stores all of your experiences, and it makes you feel uncomfortable whenever you attempt to do anything new or different from what you've done before. That's why building new habits is difficult. Your subconscious mind's job is to protect you, so it wants to keep you right where you are - and that won't get you closer to your goals.

By rewarding yourself, you reinforce those new behaviors and this helps retrain your brain to be more successful.

So if you want to set goals that actually stick, make sure your goals are realistic, time-specific, and bite-size - and don't forget to give yourself credit for all of your hard work.

Have you tried to lose weight in the past through restrictive dieting? If you're like me, you've lost the weight, only to gain it all back. That's because fad diets don't work. I help women look at all aspects of their life so they can uncover what is getting in the way of weight loss and a healthy lifestyle. My coaching services provide you with the accountability you need, so that sticking to your goals becomes easy.

Attractiveness and Physical Appearance

Reasons for changing physical body appearance:

Overall muscle toning and flexibility
Desire to wear certain fashions
Attract or please a mate
Improve health conditions
Mental and physical fitness
Preparing for a special event or a vacation
6 Reasons for Weight Loss Failure:
Wanting to lose weight in a hurry. It is unrealistic to lose excessive weight overnight. It may have taken years to build up excessive weight and time will be needed to remove the pounds.
Wrong type of diet. Many people try different diets without success. Make weight loss an educational adventure. Research different foods and their nutrients. Why are other cultures producing slim people? What are slim people doing to maintain their desired weight and fitness? Think of an eating life style for lifetime results rather than a diet with short-term results.
Wrong type of exercise program. Research exercising programs. Do something you love to do and are willing to do it often. There are a variety of formal exercising activities, sports, walking; any type of program which has the body physically active.
Withdrawing favorite foods. This will cause deprivation and result in magnified cravings and impulsive eating. Enjoy a small portion or limit as a treat once a week.
Be active in understanding nutrition and read food labels. Become familiar with why certain foods should not be eaten. Examples: avoid high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated fats, unnecessary sugar additives, diet type sugars, preservatives and additives.
Not committed to losing weight loss.
It takes 21 days to change a habit but it will take 60 to 90 days before weight loss results are visible. Make a commitment, make a reasonable plan to lose weight, have a flexible goal, and do not break your commitment.
Twenty-one days may be unnerving and 60 to 90 days may seem like forever. However, as you continue enjoying wearing smaller clothing sizes, correcting medical problems, and watching the needle on the scale indicate weight loss you will be inspired to continue.

Healthy Weight Loss:

A healthy weight loss is about 2 pounds a week. In a month this would be 8 pounds and at the end of a year a weight loss of 96 pounds. However, there will be some variables or a plateau where 2 pounds a week is not happening. Patience!!

Nutrition Program:

Discover which foods are best for your body type and stay away from foods which are not in your best interests.

A steady diet of fried foods prepared in saturated fats, excess use of dairy products, desserts and candies, and convenience foods will contribute to weight gain with or without activity. Eat wholesome foods of lean meat, fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts. Avoid animal saturated fats, hydrogenated fats, and Tran's fats. Make eating wholesome healthy foods an adventure. These foods are delicious.

It is very important to eat foods and consume beverages which help the digestive system to eliminate waste products as this function will help the body to become slender.

America: Over-Prescribed - Diabetes - "Sweet Sacrifices"

As the seventh leading cause of death in America in 2014, with a consistent pattern of it remaining in that spot for the preceding years as well (Center for Disease Control), Diabetes is a preventable medical illness that is devastating America because of our own actions; or to be more honest, our lack of action.

Diabetes presents itself in two forms: Type I and Type II. Without going into the medical details, these two types are similar, but all too different. Type I Diabetes can be simplified as being organic in nature, or rooted biologically. However, Type II Diabetes can be remembered as being "man-made," or out of our own volition.

This series, America: Over-Prescribed, focuses on the medical conditions that we treat with prescriptions drugs; thus creating a dependency which could be all but eliminated by behavior, lifestyle, and habit changes. Not to overlook the seriousness of Type I Diabetes, it is imperative that we focus our discussion to Type II, the preventable killer.

Type II Diabetes accounts for nearly 95% of the diabetes diagnoses in America! Ninety-five percent of these cases, which amounted to 29.1 million in 2014 according to the American Diabetes Association (ADA), could have likely been avoided in the first place! Even the ADA simplifies how easy it is to prevent this killing machine: Physical Activity and Nutrition!!!

Preventing diabetes and treating diabetes are two separate monsters. Whether you can reverse diabetes once you have contracted it is a sought-after finding in the medical world. However, there is no doubt that behavior and lifestyle changes have a direct impact on your susceptibility to prediabetes and eventually diabetes.

Taking a quick glance of the risk factors for Type II Diabetes reveals to us that our physical activity and nutritional behaviors are direct indicators to our vulnerability to this disease. Let's take a quick look:

- Weight: Over 1/3 of Americans are clinically obese. Overweight and obese American's account for nearly 90% of diabetic diagnoses. (obesity.org)

- Exercise: Beside exercise combating excess weight gain and obesity, exercise also promotes your body to be more efficient in its natural function, using glucose for energy production.

- Diet: Again, diet and nutrition are fundamentals of preventing and combating obesity.

Despite the tendency to dread physical fitness and exercise, when obesity and poor health are predictors of the seventh leading killer in America, it is time to pay attention and take some serious notes. It is us, as a society, that are ignoring the facts and taking unnecessary risks with deadly consequences.

Even the ADA's website is a source of validation that our behaviors and habits are to blame. Perusing their website, you will find, under "Lower Yours Risk," that these informational pages are available:

1. "Healthy Eating"
2. "Overweight"
3. "Smoking"
4. "High Blood Pressure"
5. "Physical Activity"

Please, feel free to take a quick look and use the next few moments to click on the links above to learn more about lowering your risk.

At this point, if physical activity has not climbed up your priority scale, let us hit it where it really hurts: The POCKETBOOK!

From a research study released by the American Diabetes Association in 2013, the total cost of Diabetes in the United States was $245 Billion... yes, with a "B." Of that, $176 billion was direct medical expenses. Breaking the number down a bit, here are some staggering figures:

- Hospital impatient care consisted of 43% of the medical costs (Total Value: $75.68 Billion)

- Prescription medications to treat diabetes consisted of 18% of the medical costs (Total Value: $31.68 Billion)

$31.68 Billion for prescriptions to treat a disease that we could have avoided with better health and physical activity habits. Instead of pushing paper to prescribe medications, it is time we push paper to prescribe exercise. It is time we become proactive at combating this illness and no longer kick the can down the road.

Recommend physical activity and encourage decreasing medication reliance.

Give our people the support, guidance, and knowledge to free themselves from the pill (or needle in this case).

No longer endorse overpriced pharmaceuticals, but endorse movement... endorse the "magic pill," which, while fighting obesity and diabetes, also decreases other diseases and illnesses and increases mood and productivity.

Let our natural "pill" lift our heads in confidence; We should be tired of them drooping in dependency.

This is Article 3 of the series. In this series, we will continue to discuss common ailments that are often medically treated or maintained with medication. Those that, if physical movement and activity, or exercise, were prescribed, would provide a natural remedy to eradicate the problem in its entirety. We will take the time to discuss medication versus physical exercise as the alternatives for a remedy.

And remember, inn the competition of responsibilities in life, we tend to forget about what is most important to our health... us. In a world of confusion and chaos, it can be a lonely journey to optimize your health journey. We can do it together and persevere.

Are You Trying Far Too Hard For Safe Weight Loss Results Yet No Success?

STOP if you are if you are overthinking and overdoing it and just torturing yourself to lose weight!

Funny thing to say coming from someone who wants to help you with a healthy diet chart and to lose all the weight you want for good?

Actually, there's an excellent factor.

You see, you can not attempt to have success. Don't believe me?

OK, let's look at an example:

Look around where you are sitting right now and find a few little things.

Now, attempt to pick one of the objects up with your fingers. Go ahead!

Is it in your hand?

If it is, well, then you didn't attempt at all to pick it up, you just did without any effort.

That means you just decided NOT to pick it up if the object is not in your hand and you did not pick it up.

Isn't that kind of simple?

There's no happy medium in doing anything. You can't "try" to do anything, it's a misconception.

You either do it, or don't do it.

When you set out on a daily diet plan (or anything else for that matter), the very same applies to success in that area.

Saying that you'll "give it a good old college try" lends your mind some fuzzy directions, and it will return fuzzy results, and will be results that aren't what you really want.

It also provides you an "escape" if you do not achieve the objectives you set out to reach with your daily diet plan.

You see, your subconscious mind does not translate your directions, but rather it simply goes to work following them as complete fact.

When you say you'll "attempt to shed pounds or flatten the belly, and so forth", it will "try" to follow your guidelines, which we now know is impossible.

What in fact you want, or, 'WILL", (if you really do) is to actually find success at effective weight loss.

- To feel better.

- To have more energy.

- To get rid of health challenges.

- To look terrific.

Now, if you say you want to exercise to lose weight and are not effective, or continue to use language that includes words like "try" or "we'll see" or "possibly", perhaps you're wired in reverse.

Exactly what does that imply?

Previously I discussed free information available on the web about solid mindful approaches with fat flushing fruits to burn metabolism, while mentally seeing yourself reaching your goals.

Somewhere along the way you offered your mind directions that it's too hard, or impossible.

Perhaps you're more comfy where you are at now, however, understand that it's the ideal thing to say that you want success with your new plan.

If this is the case, ask yourself exactly what beliefs you hold that are at odds with exactly what you desire.

"It's too difficult to lose weight", or, "It's impossible it seems", "I can't since I 'd have to exercise all the time," or, "I can't because it doesn't work for me."

If in fact they hold true, ask yourself.

- Are they making your life easier, or harder?

- Do these beliefs serve you or damage you?

Replace the old beliefs with brand-new ones, and with positive statements about how you want to look.

The best way to lose weight is to prevent saying you'll "try", and state you "I am ready and I will" succeed.

Use favorable language and offer your mind specific guidelines like, "I'm now happily content at my perfect weight of (number of pounds) weight" or "I am now deciding to wear a size (your perfect size)".

In your daily plan consider your language and inner chatter carefully and prevent saying, "I'm going to try".

It might take consistent attention at the start, however after a short time, you'll get used to keeping your language favorable, confident and upbeat always included in your daily diet plan.

Your safe outcomes will follow right away, depending upon how positive, dedicated and relentless you remain in applying these mindfulness workouts.

The more confident, dedicated and relentless, the much faster your results will appear.

You CAN do it!

Try to be conscious in your daily diet plan that when you state that you desire to do it, your ego-based mind-- that doubting and fearful aspect in we humans, states it does not.

The Course in Miracles states, "Do not underestimate the ego's demonstrations to those who would listen."

Somewhere along the way you offered the ego in you control over you and that's why the ego says, well I'll "TRY" to do it, but.

Because it wants to stay balanced in fear and self-doubt along with judgement and excuses, the ego is always too afraid for success.

Maybe you're more comfortable where you are now, but know that it's the ideal thing to state that you want to lose weight.

The best plan is commitment and being a DOER rather than a 'Tryer", so therefore begin now preventing from saying you'll "attempt", and state you "WILL" get results.

( Please note I also suggest searching the net for further helpful content on weight loss progress since it means burning metabolism, and here's best choices as a mindfulness approach.)

To success art reaching your goals for a healthier you!
